| 11 August 2008 | Kiva is recovering nicely from her spaying which occurred early this week. She is back walking which she clearly enjoys. She is the one in our bunch who seems to believe that she died and went to heaven - she is really enjoying the walks, the attention, and, especially, soft places to nap. We thought only Nellie would fit on this couch - how wrong we were! (CO)

| 2 August 2008 | Kiva is doing very well quietly adjusting to her new life. She is very smart - she knows she goes in the second group I walk both morning and evening. She doesn't leave her comfortable spot in the shade until I am done with the first two, then she politely presents herself at the gate for her turn! You gotta love afghans - so smart! She responds to her name and enjoys her walks her stamina is growing and she is also filling out a bit more. She would adjust to almost any situation, she gets along with the other dogs, but wouldn't mind being a couch potato! (CO) | ||||
| 27 July 2008 | Kiva got her rabies shot and was heartworm negative. She is still our quiet one but sweet as anything and quietly asking for attention! She obviously enjoys walks and when the leashes were brought out she ran right over to be in the first group to go. (CO)

| 26 July 2008 | Kiva seems to be relaxing into her new routine - time in the playyard and walks. Yesterday not only was she unconcerned about a car and greeted a neighbor, but when asked to accompany a noise trash receptacle down a long driveway, she hesitated but did. (CO) | ||||
| 24 July 2008 | After her bath and ear brush, Kiva went for a walk with her head and tail up and even jumped after a rabbit she saw. She is a quiet bitch, but she is obviously feeling better now that those heavy felted masses have been removed. She lacks muscle tone and is underweight so she is being walked as much as we can - she had two walks while it was cool this morning. If she had a resume it would specify her career goal as couch potato. She is one of those girls that heads for the soft spots every chance she gets. She is asking for affection more and goes easily on the lead now. (CO)

| 22 July 2008 | She is a quiet, sweet girl who was intensely matted to the skin and so she was shaved down. She is a little on the slender side though that could just be contention for food since she is now eating nicely. She has now been on a lead and seems to be doing well with it. (CO) | ||||
