| June 2008 | I can't tell you enough how much we love Heather Sue (formally Jane). She is such a delight. She slept in her crate & it was clean this morning, she went potty in the designated area all day today & I believe she really has the hang of being house broken. She slept in between us in bed, after her morning visit to the potty. I think that might be her new bed. She is walking around like she owns the place & enjoying the view of all the windows. She walks nicely on her leash in the back yard, I think I will give her a week or 2 before we try street walking. I will keep you posted of all her progress. I really enjoyed working with Linda & Joanne & hope to keep in touch. In the future, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help out for anything. (New Owner) | ||||
| 29 July 2008 | Jane now HEATHER-SUE left with new mom and dad Sue and Bill to live on Long Island. She has a super personality and her biggest challenge will be grooming. She was traumatized about it even before we started cleaning her up which was nothing but torture (mentally) on the cleaners and the poor dog (physically). It will take patience and lots of hard work, and Velveeta I am sure, to get her over this. We got a report that Heather spent her first evening at home with new sister Sadie the golden and got to sleep in the next morning between mom and dad in their bed! She is happy and enjoying her new yard, sister, family and house fully! (AS) Dr. Ulrike Reinisch arrived early from CT and spent hours observing the dogs, particularly withdrawn Edgar and shivering Charlotte, to see which would benefit the most from her fostering and magical TLC . Charlotte was chosen for a variety of reasons...
Another cheese and treat party as the fosters began to arrive. Charlotte and Edgar (the wall flowers stayed in the background as more people came outside). Edgar began cheek puffing. Anna fitted the nervous trio -Charlotte, Jane, Edgar with lure coursing jackets as anxiety wraps. Anna & Christina prepared the comfy crates crates with clouds of paper towels... Jane turned Lisa's foster agreements into a bed. I am missing them already... Dramatic contrast between the way our precious pups looked in their crates the day they arrived and the day they left... Gloriously groomed, lured by juicy bones and chicken breasts, haloed by Rescue Remedy spray, each happier Hound crated up willingly... Cyrano left for Maryland, Charlotte for Connecticut, Dante, Whitman and Edgar with Lisa to Philly, Frost (Christina/Jules) and Jane (Sue) staying close by on LI... (JA)

| 25 July 2008 | Jane has perked up - she is up and about and seems much more at ease. she will come up to you willingly and seems to be comfortable with petting and rubs. will still take time with walking. she is doing so much better though. and truly is a little doll !!! (LR) ...I felt like Jane Goodall with cheese...Thurs, Edgar was a voyeur and non-participant...Whitman was partying on his own from a distance. Everyone had the happy look except for worried Edgar. By Friday, both boys had joined in the fun... On Friday, Charlotte was romping with the gang but the only one too nervous to partake of the cheese and liver treats...Ironically she had made a pig of herself on Thursday. Jane is adept at finding open run gates and moving the party inside with her siblings.. Everyone "takes food" with manners. (JA)

| 22 July 2008 | Jane is still stand offish but lover her head and snout scratched (JW) Charlotte and Jane nibbled later on in the day at bit - but everyone loved the chicken, even the girls !!! We had some tails wagging and legs lifted for belly rubs. We try to let everyone know that each day is going to be better and better for them and that we love them all!!! (LR) | ||||
