| 18 August 2008 | Beau was neutered a week ago and came home acting like nothing ever happened to him. I have never seen such a stoic dog in my life. The vet could not believe he was a rescue and not one of MY dogs. She had not one bit of trouble with him at all. Remember this was the one that had been heavily sedated at the shelter.........Sigh. He has completely come out of his shell and plays with my Mini-Dachshund and protects her and my older Afghan bitch who are his yard buddies. He loves it here and eats well and has gained almost enough weight to be considered completely within normal range for his size. I would like maybe a few more pounds, and I am sure that will come at the rate he is eating and especially now that he is neutered. He loves his neck, head and back rubs and will accept them from anyone giving them out, but my daughter and I are still his favorites! He pretty much follows me around when he is loose and does NOT like to be alone. However, he loves his bed (Which is his big crate with a big fluffy pillow bed and he never fusses in there at all when we have to be away or overnite. He is a WONDERFUL dog and has come a VERY long way from what he was when he first came here. (HJ)
